Welcome to Vishwakarma Maritime Institute.
The Vishwakarma Maritime Institute (VMI) is promoted by Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT). Established in 2009, VMI provides certificate and graduate courses in marine engineering discipline.
The institute is headed by Prof. B.B. Chandakkar, as Director. Having sailed as a marine engineer for over two decades, he brings onboard, technical and administrative expertise required for VMI.

The Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust was set up in 1975 to provide social, cultural, and educational services in Pune. Promoter of the Vishwakarma Institutes, the trust runs 10 academic institutions having more than 10000 students. Apart from the prestigious VIT - Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, BRACT’s institutes cater to engineering, information technology, management, business studies, design, and graduate courses. Besides these, the trust also runs well established schools in English and Marathi mediums.
Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, was established in 1984 to impart best of breed technical education. The institute is the first unaided Institute to earn autonomy under Pune University and rated amongst the top 15 Engineering Institutes of India.

Our partnership with BSM goes beyond normal tie-ups and provides committed support and advice on the academic aspect of our courses. The highlights of our tie-up are :
- BSM is involved in the selection of trainees
- BSM participates in regular training sessions
- BSM conducts periodic reviews based on our monthly reporting
- BSM will absorb all our cadets on successful completion of the course

VMI received LOI from Director General of Shipping for commencement of proposed courses viz., B.Sc.(Nautical Science) & B.Tech(Marine Engineering).
